In Traditional Chinese Medicine there are energetic pathways that run through our bodies called meridians. Meridians have their own special path through our organs, while our organs have a YIN/YANG partner. Cupping, Gua-Sha, and moxibustion are specifically phenomenal tools along these pathways as they have the ability to heat up, cool down, drain dampness, strengthen and tonify our bodies.
I often get asked, “what does cupping do?”
Here is a simple breakdown of the benefits of fire cupping.
It pulls heat and pathogens out of the body. Heat is what makes us feel anxious, cranky and irritable. It pulls blood to the surface from deep within, while creating healthy circulation. Cupping also pulls blood through organs and muscles creating a healing environment since blood IS after all a healing agent.
Our blood is supposed to flow freely through our bodies like a river, but sometimes rivers get backed up from mud/sticks and the river stops flowing as freely as it should. The same thing happens in our bodies due to stress, toxins and lack of movement. Cupping allows to clear those blocks of Qi (energy) and blood. It is safe and effective. Used for depression, anxiety, sore muscles, balancing out the body, pulling pathogens, tonifying, strengthening and so much more.
